If it's been present for a month, it needs looked at by a dentist. It's probably a bit of traumatised mucosa from chewing but it needs checked.

What’s traumatised mucosa?

Tried to google what traumatised mucosa is and found nothing, it’s the side I primarily chew on . I’m just always thinking the worst like it could be mouth cancer related due to me smoking for 2 years (6-7 years ago) . I really appreciate all your help . My stomach is turning just writing this

If you don’t mind giving me a bit more information on “traumatised mucosa” again it’s the side of my mouth I primarily chew on (my right side ) I have that decay molar on the other side (left)

I am not a dentist, but my understanding is mucosa is essentially the proper name for the “skin” inside your mouth. So traumatised mucosa would mean you have bashed it about a bit, like when you accidentally gnash on your inner cheek when you chew.

I appreciate you for clearing the information on what the term means . It’s going on over 32-34 days . Some days it clears up and some days it gets white again . It’s the side I primarily always chew on so I can image that term fitting the description . I’d really like to thank you folks for reducing my anxiety when it comes to my mouth . The knowledge everyone has shared with me has been very useful and I gladly appreciate it .

Sorry, I try to avoid dentist jargon but clearly failed there. Yes, mucosa is the proper name for the lining of the mouth, a whitish discolouration is usually a sign of some kind of trauma.
However unusual areas that have been present for over a couple of weeks need to be looked at.

So the spot is still there , no pain . My question is do you think it looks or could be cancerous??? ???? I’m very worried . I’m 31 years old

Please get it looked at.

It sounds as if you're reluctant to go back to the dental office where you got the x-rays done?

Looking to get it checked out soon I’m hoping it isn’t too serious . Being that’s its near my tooth and not huge . I just hope it isn’t cancerous ????????????????? hoping its just traumatized like someone mentioned.

I was just curious what a “gum lesion” is , I think that’s what it could be ???

LESION: a region in an organ or tissue which has suffered damage through injury or disease, such as a wound, ulcer, abscess, or tumour.
synonyms:wound, injury, bruise, abrasion, contusion, scratch, scrape, cut, gash, laceration, tear, puncture;

Basically anything that's not healthy tissue :)

Does anyone know if mouth cancer looks like what’s in the picture above ?

Is it still there? Has the appearance changed at all?
Please go and get it looked at.

Update: so I picked at it with a flosser pic and it turns out it’s just dead skin, from bashing it due to it being my primary side for chewing , nothing serious (thank god) was able to peel off the skin . This forum has helped me out tremendously. Thank each and every single one of y’all.

But did you got it checked by a doctor or dentist?

What could it possibly be
