Check up a week ago booked an extraction for next week and crown work on another next year.

This week, I am getting pain in a upper premolar with no tooth beside it. I think it could be surpaerupting and there is no enamel on the back of it. Dentist did the ice test last week.
I had a hot drink this week and it felt like a searing needle shooting between the gum and the tooth.

I don't know if the nerve is now below the gumline but it feels like it.

How do I bring this up at the extraction? If he wants to check it out in a different appt it will be next year.

I'm angry that the pain didn't start before I saw him for my check up last week.

Just ask him, it won't take a minute to look. If it's just a bit of recession/over eruption it's a fairly quick and easy fix.

@Gordon Thank you.
I've read all kinds of horror stories about fixing supra erupted teeth. How are they fixed?

Mine is also very brown and rough at the back, the tooth that was there before it overlapped and I never flossed as well as I should have done when I was younger so there is no enamel on the back of it either.

Praying it's not a root canal and another crown.

Usually it just needs the exposed root surface coated with fluoride varnish to seal up the dentine tubules that are exposed.
