Is it normal for a newly crowned tooth (no root canal — just too large of a filling to repair) to be a bit heat and cold sensitive? I just had it done this afternoon in a back molar and it’s giving me a bit of a zing if I eat or drink really hot or cold things. Goes away quickly.

Possibly, sometimes the temp crown can push back the gingival margins a bit and expose some root surface, it should go away in a day or two.
