Has anyone here ever received nitrous oxide at a dentist appointment for routine dental care? If so, was it enough to reduce your dental phobia? Could you please share your experiences?

Hi.

Several years ago I tried Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) for the first time as an adult. It has helped me tons during dental appointments. I've used it for teeth cleanings, dental exams, cavity fillings, root canal treatments, oral surgery and extractions.

I would highly recommend trying it.

Thank you for your reply. That is very promising to hear. I didn’t realize that almost all dentist offices now a days provide this option (I haven’t been to a dentist in years due to my phobia). I am considering a nearby office that gave me the option and I’ve been strongly considering it. They also stated that they could provide oral sedation on top of the nitros if I needed “more” to calm my anxiety. Unfortunately I have no dental insurance to use there but they have a great in house payment plan which is extremely helpful. Also they have great reviews which helps relax my mind to the idea of receiving care there.
