I went in for 2 fillings and 1 is a deep filling.
It was a horrible experience for me and it's reinforced my fear and lack of trust in dentists. This was a different dentist but I had a dam on which hurt as it got pulled through between my teeth hard, I had clamps of some sort and I couldn't swallow as this sharp metal piece was jabbing my tongue so I gagged a few times. The dam came off once and had to be put on again.
I felt a lot of pain with the drill and jumped and yelled 3 times which then the dentist changed the drill.
I ended up swallowing a bit of aesthetic and I still have some blood now... I took painkillers soon as I got back.
All that in a hour for 1 tooth not been done and the deep filling tooth is just half done - it's cleaned up a bit and just has a temporary filling and have to wait for a month with a 2 hour appointment to get in finished. I once had a temporary filling which came out in about 2 minutes will this really last a month? I got told to chew on the opposite side.
I was fighting a panicking attack and so worried about if this all go ok.... will I go through all that pain for it to fail and get a root canal again (the cost!!)?
People say to me fillings are nothing and don't get what the problem is but I've only had very bad experiences with fillings! I much preferred the root canal and the extraction I had once than this.
My failed deep filling with a different place was all done in one go... I don't remember a dam so I was surprised. I didn't had blood or pain from it either.
