You would need to contact them yourself (or have someone else do it for you)...that recommended dentist is unlikely to log in and see your message. I have deleted your phone number so you don't get nuisance calls.
I/V sedation is a great alternative to being 'put to sleep' with a general anaesthetic (only available in hospitals in the UK)...there is more information about sedation here:

In theory i/v sedation is available in some NHS Dental Practices but in practice it is much easier to find a dentist offering it in the private sector.
If you found a dentist you liked and trusted who could treat you in a painfree manner with just local anaesthetic, you may not need any sedation anyway.
Another option is just to get anti-anxiety meds from your GP to take before an appt or dentists can prescribe these as well in most cases.
Good luck. :grouphug:

Hi susan,

have just read your recommendation about a dentist you use, does he specialise in nervous patients ? i live only 1 mile from him, but am trying to pluck up courage to phone him :[.
I have been scared of the dentist all ,life from a child. Any info would be much appreciated.:grouphug::D:hidesbehindsofa:

Sorry I didn't answer before, I have responded to your PM.

To the other poster:
This dentist won't put you to sleep but he will prescribe sedatives if you can take them.

I just spoke with Mapperley Dental Care to ask about sedation and was advised that they do absolutely no work with sedation.
I also called Impressions who said they wouldn't be able to see me at all for over three weeks (I need a root canal or extraction) and was told 'well at least it's not hurting now, is it?' in reference to it having kept me up all night with pain. Not impressed.

I'm now going to be having the procedure done by Alison, the endodontist at Park Dental Care on the 22nd. It's costing a lot of money but they seem to be very sensitive to nervous patients. They've prescribed me 3mg of lorazepam as a sedative and have already talked to me at length about my phobia during a diagnostic appointment.

Sorry I took so long to reply, yes, he deals with nervous patients like me and you all the time. If you haven't got the guts up to go yet, please try him, he's very kind.

Just to say I have made an appointment with Mr Snape, thank you Susan. He is private only for adults, by the way.
