My teeth are generally worn down, and a premolar on the upper left side has over-erupted, I believe due to surface loss of the adjacent tooth.
I can remember my dentist mentioning this in the past and it hasn't really bothered me too much, however now I've noticed that when I bite down on my left side I feel pain.
I told my dentist about this during my recent visit and he didn't suggest a particular treatment for the over-erupted tooth, so is it something which I should realistically just accept? Is it not normal to be biting down on your teeth, and it's more of a psychological issue which I need to overcome, I.e. I need to train myself to stop biting down so often?
In many ways I'd like to request for the tooth to be extracted but I don't know whether that's going to cause me further issues down the line, hence why my dentist never suggested it as an option?
