Can an overextended gutta percha cause an inflammation response e.g. throbbing and pain? I’ve had intermittent throbbing and pain in my front tooth since a root canal 7 months ago. There’s no sign of a crack and not much evidence that could suggest an ongoing infection. But the gutta percha extended a few mm beyond the end of the tooth. The endodontist says it’s extremely unlikely that could cause an issue, but journals I’ve read suggest otherwise. Can any one advise on this?
Many thanks!

I agree with your endodontist.
