pain after RCT

Can someone explain the pain after RCT please? The nerves in the tooth have been sealed, but my bite still seems to result in pain in that tooth? I have read that it takes a few days and up to a week for it to settle down, but where is the pain coming from if not from the nerves in the tooth please?
