Pain in #26

Hello,
I have some recession that has been causing pain for years in #26. Its pretty constant and very significant. I got bite wings done and I wanted to see what a dentist thought of whether this looked like a large faint lesion around the root of #26.

Most likely it's just an artefact on the x-ray. The PDL (the wee ligament that holds the tooth in) is fully intact so it's not a periapical issue.
 
Thanks Gordon. I didn’t realize the PDL was always affected with a lesion at the root.
