It's fairly common after an extraction for a neighbour tooth to become sensitive to cold/sweet. This is because some root surface has become exposed due to reshaping of the socket. It should settle down in time but you can help it along by using some sensitive tooth toothpaste, rub some into the sensitive area with a finger last thing at bedtime and leave it there, don't rinse or eat anything.

Thank you. Yes, I'd heard that but 10 months seems like a very long time. It is better than it was but still can't tolerate very cold things

It's been a little over a month since I had my tooth extracted (bottom, 3rd on from the back). The tooth (4th one from the back) next to it feels weird, slightly squishy when I bite down on it, but it's not wobbly. My jaw still hurts a little too. Is this normal? If so, how much longer should it take to feel better and be completely healed?

It's normal. It'll take a few weeks to a couple of months, depends on your age, smoker, general health, sex and so forth.
