Pain relief.

Hi. Im waiting for a root filling but the earliest i can have it done is February next year due to waitung list ( unless i go private ). Two questions which are keeping me awake at night. 1 will the infection spread to other teeth and 2 whats the best pain relief? Iv been to antibiotics do not work. Thank you so much.

2) Aspirin, if your stomach can take it. By far the best over the counter pain drug you can buy (at very little cost!). If you can't take aspirin then ibuprofen and Paracetamol, alternate them so you can take something every 3 hours but do NOT take more than the maximum dose or bad things happen to your liver.

Thank you so much Gordon. Iv got myself in a panic as another tooth became sore through over flossing etc i was convinced the infection was moving along my gum line. I can relax a bit now thank you.

That's as good as anything. I don't see any advantage in any commercial mouthwash, other than something like Difflam or Corsodyl for specific conditions for a short time.
