Is this worth it...my insurance does not cover implants so now I am wondering if this might be a good option then getting implant later on???

I was told that it wasn't needed, but the tooth above it started to over-erupt after a year and that needed to come out too as it was hurting. I don't know what the long term consequences will be.

I was told that someone had this many years ago and has been perfectly fine, and she is elderly (where as I'm in my 30's.)

It might be worth it to fill the space with a bridge tooth to prevent your teeth on either side of it from shifting to fill in the gap. Talk it over with your dentist and ask if this should be something to consider in your particular case.
