Since many anxious dental patients also have high levels of anxiety I want to ask the following question:
How do you rate your anxiety in general?
1. Very Low
2. Low
3. Average
4. Above average
5. Severe
6. Incapacitating with difficulty with daily living.

I voted above average. However, my dental anxiety, at its height, far exceeded my 'normal' level of anxiety.

Pretty much the same as Fearful - I am prone to anxiety, not enough to be something like GAD so didn't tick "severe", but enough to be an issue sometimes so definitely above average.

Dental stuff goes off the scale though! Sometimes that overspills into anxiety about other stuff, sometimes not, I guess it depends on how tired I am so how much "cope" I have in reserve. Overspill is definitely a thing, sometimes when dental stuff is looming I will find myself with this sort of free-floating anxiety looking for something to worry about.

I chose above average. Though I have GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder), I am able to function day-to-day, though the GAD makes it more challenging. I think I'm sometimes in the "severe" range, but don't think I'm there all the time.

I have "average" anxiety until it comes to anything dental. Then it is "severe" anxiety.

Above average for me, although I go through phases of severe.

I only find myself getting truly anxious when faced with (or at) a doctor or dental appointment. Day to day I would say I probably experience average to below average anxiety.

Above average for me for dental and medical!

"Average" overall but "Severe" for dental.

I chose above average, but don't have panic attacks or anything like that. I just worry about things more than most people do, because I always think of the worst-case scenarios possible in any situation. With dental work, there are always so many things that can go so seriously wrong, so I'm definitely more worried on that front.

Low to average normally but dental is Incapacitating, and debilitating
