so about 1ish year ago I got this lump on my left lower jaw, it could be felt to the touch and felt like a pebble but it caused no pain or any issues. My dentist saw it in an xray in November and has referred me to an endontist which isn’t until March. It wasn’t until Sunday, it started to feel painful. This lump on my jaw has grown to be bigger and feels more like a grape. It has caused my face to be distorted, making my jaw way bigger on my left side and almost looking swollen. I went to the emergency dentist on Tuesday , they xrayed me again and prescribed me clindamycin 300mg for 3x a day. I have not noticed any improvement in the size of the lesion, nor the pressure pain it brings with it. I attached my xray from Tuesday

What's the question?

@Gordon does this seem like a cyst or anything serious? I’m scared I need to go to the ER the antibiotics aren’t reducing the size!

It's probably a fairly chronic abscess, antibiotics won't do much, either a root canal or extraction is needed. There's no need to go to ER.

@Gordon finally got into oral surgeon after no antibiotics worked and my face kept growing. Turns out the infection spread to the root canal tooth as well and the surgeon removed both teeth and cysts under them. He also cut a hole in the gums for drainage. But my mouth tastes foul from the infection, what should i do?

Follow the instructions your surgeon gave you?

If they didn't give you anything start with this:

Try to gently clean the area with a gauze dipped in salt water. Do NOT use Chlorhexidine at this stage, or any other mouthwashes.
