Hello! I just had a couple of questions that might seem silly but I feel like I've not really gotten any answers from my dentist regarding this and I don't want to have to pay to see them again just to ask.

I had my top right molar at the back (not the wisdom tooth) extracted on the 7th April (just over two weeks ago?). I've had a fairly painless recovery for the most part I think, despite being anxious and struggling a little with concerns of dry socket etc. My questions are:
1) How much longer is the salt rinse needed to be done for? I've kind of reduced it to about twice a day now but I don't know if I need to keep doing it until it heals and I can't see the wound tbh so I don't know when that will be.
2) When am I able to eat rice without worrying about it getting stuck in the wound sites?
3) My last question is regarding the fact I still have some strange rubbing of the side of my cheek against the tooth that was next to it. I don't know if it's gonna be like this for good now but I saw the dentist about this a week or so ago and they said there was nothing that they could do and there were no chips or anything that would be causing it. It's quite annoying tho as I feel it all the time when I move my mouth. Is there a reason for it being like this?

Thanks if you can help with my questions and I hope this is okay to ask here!

Hi! I had my upper 2nd molar extracted on April 8th. For the last week I have been eating like normal. I had rice last week and I did have a piece get stuck in the hole but it came right out. I only did salt water rinses for the first week and have been brushing like normal now. I had swelling in my cheek still for almost 9 days after extraction but it went down.

Just stop now. Unless you particularly like doing it :-)

Anytime you like.

Might be a bit of swelling or it might be just the "new" feeling since the edge of the next door tooth is more exposed now. If it's still a problem at your next exam ask the dentist if they can polish up the corner of the next door tooth to see if that helps.

@Sassycass Thanks haha, this makes me feel slightly better! I find it hard to tell if anything gets stuck there as it's right at the back so I can't even tell if it's healing well but hopefully it is (considering I've had no pain!)
I'll probably try and eat some rice soon as I'm getting tired of potato and pasta/noodles hahaha!

Haha, I don't particularly enjoy it but I do wonder if it still has any benefit or healing properties this far along.

I feel like I'll probably ask them if it doesn't resolve by the next appointment at the end of May as it's quite annoying if I'm talking or eating lol. Thanks for the advice and reassurance as always! :)
