I had a back lower wisdom tooth filled a week ago. It wasn't a root filling but the dentist had to drill near to the nerve to remove decay under the old filling. It has a big amalgam filling in it. I had tonnes of local anaesthetic and temporary facial paralysis which quickly subsided.
I was in no pain when I went to the dentist. However, I'm still sore now a week afterwards. My jaw feels bruised and I have a tiny amount of discomfort when I bite down and my top (acrylic denture) teeth hit the new filling. I used to have jaw disfunction but that was cured with a gumshield at night. My body is generally slow to heal.
Should I put up with it or get another appointment? I don't want my dentist thinking I'm paranoid and whinging. I want to do the right thing.
