Hi folks. Thank you for taking the time to review and respond.

I went into the dentist yesterday for the 3rd part of my 4 part series to correct all of my teeth. Thank you for this forum as it has been a catalyst to motivate me to go to the dentist.
During part 1, about 5 months ago, I had some root canals and crowns put in place along with a cleaning. It had been 17 years since I was last at the dentist.

About a week ago, I went in for a cleaning and while there, made an appointment to have my broken teeth/exposed rotten roots removed. Well, that day was yesterday. I originally had gas scheduled, but decided to try it without gas and just local injections. It wasnt as bad as I thought.

Anyway, on to my question. I had 4 teeth removed yesterday. 3 of the 4 were broken and rotten down to the root level. One of them had broken over Christmas and was decaying fast.

Today, I feel like I have the flu. I am extremely tired, and it feels like the flue symptoms. Is this normal for having rotten teeth removed?

Thank you.

You could very well have the flu. I know when I've been exposed (which I am basically daily working with kids) and then get either chilled or stressed, I'll be sure to catch it.

While the dental work itself probably isn't the most likely culprit, it could have contributed by lowering your defenses.

If it's just the fatigue, then yeah, a trip to the dentist usually does that to me, too. ::)

I hope you feel better soon!

I've had infected teeth out (when my uppers came out last year and more recently when a lower molar had to come out) and I felt better afterwards. You've probably got a cold or something. And the stress of denture visits does take it out of you, it's true. You'll feel better soon I'm sure. :)
