My gums are a dark purplish colour, just wanting to check this is normal ?
No pain, no bleeding and no sensitivity. They are purple at the front and bottom right at the front
I went to the dentist last month and all was ok

I heard melanin can cause it ( I do have brown skin )
They look like this... ( photo attached )

And I had two fillings last month and started using an electric toothbrush recently too.

I’m not a doctor, but as your gum always been very dark? If yes, there’s no cause for concern. If not, you might want to see a dentist to have a better understanding of what is causing this.

Geos has nailed it, if they've always been like that then it's just pigmentation, if it hasn't then you need to see your doctor, it can be a sign of systemic issues.
