Question about getting a bridge.

So I'm getting a tooth extraction in August, and I'll need a bridge after that. It's only a bridge to cover one missing tooth. What I'm scared of is tha the teeth next to it aren't strong enough to take a bridge. What happens if that's the case? Are there any other (hopefully affordable, I don't have insurance) options if a bridge won't work?
 
Well, you only need one tooth to support a single unit bridge, so hopefully one of them will be up to the task. Alternatively you're looking at either a partial denture or some kind of heroic spring cantilever bridge from a more distant tooth, but cost wise there you're probably not much more expensive putting in an implant...
