I just had my hard reline on my upper and lower dentures..got them back yesterday. They feel absolutely awesome! No adhesive needed on either. But this morning when I ate breakfast I ran into a little problem. When biting into something I discovered the lower wanted to tip forward and dug into the inside of my gum right in front. If I just stick food in my mouth and chew there's no problem at all..it's just when I bite down on something.

So my question to fellow lower denture wearers is...is this normal or do I need some sort of adjustment? Is there a trick when it comes to biting into something? Or if I'm planning to eat things I bite into..should I just use a bit of adhesive on the lower? :(

I only got my dentures last week so am not a great source of information. But, if adhesive doesn't work, you may consider having permanent implants put in to secure the bottom teeth. My dentist said they are no biggie to put in and hold them in place very well. Basically your denture just snaps into place.

After I have healed enough and have my final reline, I plan on getting them.

Thanks for the idea. I'm a little puzzled why this happens since I know people who bite into things with no problem..without adhesive. Maybe I need practice. :giggle:
