Rebuild Enamel?

I recently came across an OTC product that claims to rebuild the enamel. Is that possible? If yes, what product do you recommend? Thank you!

Not possible. Enamel is laid down by cells called ameloblasts which die off when the tooth erupts into the mouth, sadly for us all.

This is probably off subject but what is the sweet stuff that dentist buffs our teeth with? What is the purpose of that? Thank you!

Sweet? Only stuff I know that's a bit sweet is Duraphat fluoride varnish, which helps to form a protective barrier over the tooth.

Do you get the buffing after a cleaning? If so then it might be prophy paste, which is an abrasive that is used to clean off plaque that may remain after the cleaning.
