Hello...I never realized how bad my dental phobia was until my baby tooth (my left canine) that I still have over age 20 started to get a hole. The hole recently started getting more significant, sharp, but it's never caused me any pain. I'm so scared to go to the dentist, or to ask for help or for people to see me with it degrading. I'm truly so unsure what to do. It doesn't cause me any pain yet which makes it even harder to know what to do about. Can anyone tell me what the next step could be or how going to the dentist would even help? Will I be shamed for not getting help sooner?

This comes up so often on here that there's a whole big article all about it:

TLDR: Dentists really, really don't care how bad your teeth are. We're more interested in fixing things than moaning about how they got to need fixing in the first place :-)

Should be a fairly easy job for the dentist to fix it by the sounds of it.
