Root canal and Klonopin

I have to get a root canal tomorrow and I am EXTREMELY anxious over it since I've never had one done. I'm mostly scared of them not giving me enough numbing medicine(?) and it hurting. Would taking Klonopin before my appointment be a bad idea? It does help me relax, I just don't want it to interact with whatever they give me.
