Root canal filling has worn away

I received a root canal procedure about one week ago at time of posting. I think the temporary filling has gone down too much...

There’s no smell or sensitivity yet, but I’m too afraid of going back to the dentist until I can get the crown covered, which may take weeks. I don’t want to complicate the process and have to go back several times.

You won't get sensitivity from it, it's got no nerve to stimulate. This isn't great though, it'll allow contamination into the new root filling and potentially compromise it. Get back in and ask them to redo it.
 
@Gordon Thank you for your help! Do you have suggestions on preventing this issue from worsening? (I can’t pay the out-of-pocket costs for a redo…)
 
It looks like a very soft temp filling material has been used, so using something a bit harder would help. I don't think you should have to pay to fix this.
