I recently had a root canal on my upper first molar.
The endodontist says that my tooth doesn't need a crown but may in the future and has put a permanent filling in.

I'm absolutely terrified that the root canal will fail one day or that the tooth will crack and that I'll need an extraction in the future - I'm only 24.

It sounds ridiculous but the idea is making me so upset and stressed that I'm struggling to go about my daily life and am barely sleeping.

Any positive stories/advice would be appreciated.

Strange that they didn't suggest a crown considering it's a molar tooth.
A crown would help in extending its lifespan I would have thought, especially if its a large filling.

I had a root canal recently on a premolar and my dentist inisted I get a crown on it.
I did wait about 3 months after the root canal to make sure that the root canal was successful before crowning it though.
