Hi all, im still in so much pain with my teeth. The back molar and two bottom molar.
All have been root canaled and then redone....however im still in agaony. Im on my 9th antibiotic!!

Im starting to think extraction is going to be the lnly way to end this pain but im terrified!!
(1l) Does extraction hurt?
(2) Are the missing teeth very visible?
(3) Can implants be fitted right away?

Im full of questions as im so full of fear. Any help would be much appreciated please.

Hi. I'm sorry you're still in so much pain even after all of that. Have you been given antibiotics to treat any possible infection? Both a root canal or an extraction should be completely painless during the procedure. I've never had any pain after a root canal - only a little soreness. I've found extractions more uncomfortable afterwards (but I've only had wisdoms extracted).

I think that whether or not they will be visible depends on which teeth and how far back they are. I don't think you can get an implant the same day.

Are you able to get a second opinion to see if the source of the pain can be identified?

From my experience, actually getting them removed doesn't hurt at all! After the anaesthetic wears off it's definitely tender and sensitive but I would never call it pain.

I had an implant post inserted immediately after an extraction, though I'm not sure if this is always the way it's done in every case. None of it hurt, as I was completely numb. It didn't even hurt after the numbing wore off. I took ibuprofen as a precaution when the numbing started to wear off, but I probably didn't even need to.

Thank you all so so much for replying. I am very thankful.
Im now on my 9th antibiotic and this is after seeing 2 dentists and a specialist....the specialist is an endodontist who has picked up on many issues.
He thinks it could be TMJ as my muscles are so tight but some of the RCT may have failed too.

One of the teeth (lower 2nd back molar) has been re root canal treated and is still véry sore.
It has a chip out of the front of it and I am scared of it rotting totally. Can this happen?

My upper 2nd back molar has also been re root canal treated and is painful.
There is also a small white cyst above the tooth on the gum that has not gone away....even with antibiotics.

Im terrified of losing my teeth and terrified of extraction....im scared of looking vile with no back teeth and then having more infections etc.
Over all im just in a big panic and dont know what to do anymore.
Im sorry for the long rant!

Hi did you have your tooth/teeth extracted and an implant put in on the same day?
It just scares me thinking of the dentist drilling into the bone and placing something. Although having a gap in my teeth scares me too.
