So in about two weeks I'm gonna be going back to meet with my dentist to talk about the next steps which I assume will be the root canals and I was wondering if anybody can tell me something about what they are like and did you experience any pain any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. I am super nervous and scared about it.

I've had 2 root canals done personally. Think on them as being a bit like a filling only taking a lot longer, the canals get cleaned out with little file things, (a bit like having your fingernails filed really), Then they get washed out with a disinfectant solution before being filled up with a gooey plastic material.

They shouldn't be any more painful than a filling, usually to require RCT the nerve has to be dead, so potentially you wouldn't feel anything much even without local... but we give local anyway just in case!

I had 3 done a few years ago and it was nowhere near as bad as I expected. It was numb so although I could feel sensations, I didn't have any pain.
After the first one I wasn't bothered about getting more because I knew it was bearable
