I went to the dentist for the first time in about 10 years a few months ago and I have gum disease and lots of work that needs doing, fillings and possibly a few removals or extractions.
But first I need a scale and polish before they can do anything and I'm petrified.Odviously I'm scared of the pain,I'm autistic and extremely low pain threshold but also never feel able to say to stop if I am in pain. But mainly I'm scared because I have such bad gums with so much plaque under the gums which showed in the xray. I have a weak immune system and end up on antibiotics every other month for something or other(utis and throat infects) but I'm not medically classed as immune weak so the when I asked the dentist if I could have some preventative antibiotics for the scale and polish because I know my body is going to kick off because it always does he said no its not needed and it's really putting me off going.Iv got the appointment in a week's time but the fact I'm getting it done without antibiotic protection is freaking me the he'll out.Help!

You really, really don't need antibiotics for a scale and polish.
There is a far greater risk to your health from unnecessary antibiotics than from any kind of dental treatment. Your dentist would be risking serious professional consequences to themselves for prescribing antibiotics for you.
