I had my left incisor tooth, next to the canine tooth, extracted 13 days ago. It still feels swollen and sore, and there is sharp pain in my cheek above the extraction. I've had the same pain on and off in the cheek for around 7 months, when my dentist told me I had a bone infection around that tooth. I had a root canal, a root canal retreatment, then the extraction. The tooth had a fracture. I've been on 5 courses of antibiotics over the past 7 months. The last x-ray done about 1 month ago showed the bone infection had healed.
I was hoping the pain would subside after the extraction. I am finding it difficult to stop worrying. Could it still be infected, or is it normal healing? Could it be nerve pain? All my gums feel sore at times, and sometimes feel numb and tingling. Salt water rinse, and toothpaste irritate and cause pain in my gums terribly. I don't know what to do that's best for healing, and would greatly appreciate any advice.
