Hi everyone,

I have huge anxiety and have not visited a dentist for a few years and I go next month. Last year I had a filling fall out of my second bottom molar and it was a huge filling so left a huge hole in my tooth. I'm quite sure that tooth cannot be saved. On top of that I have to have all my wisdom teeth removed as they are impacted and I likely have a cavities that will need filling. My questions is will I need to have an implant for that second molar? I live in Canada and it is 5k+ to get an implant. It's going to be 2k+ just for my wisdom teeth alone. Since it is the last tooth I cannot have a bridge, it's not a good place for a denture so my only option is an implant. I'm scared if I don't get an implant that I will have bone loss and other issues. Has anyone just left it?

Hi @JessicaA, you might find this thread useful:

Coincidentally, another member (Little Tiger) is in a similar quandary, and there is some information in their thread which might be useful to you, too:

Hopefully this is of some use until you see the new dentist next month :)
