Quick one: If one dentist says of a tooth that the bone loss is severe enough that it's going to fall out on its own sooner or later if you don't have it extracted first....is it remotely possible that a different dentist might say that tooth COULD be saved? Has anyone had a patient come to them with a tooth someone else has told them they're going to lose, and managed to save it? Thanks.

My husband has a tooth with what our dentist is telling him no bone at all attached. It’s still tight. He’s now looking into a bone graft

Depends how much money and effort the patient is prepared to throw at the problem.

With a bit of surgery and really superb home care then teeth with major bone loss can be saved, trouble is while some people have the money, getting them to change their cleaning habits for the rest of their lives is a lot more difficult :)
