On the 5th of June I had a very deep filling done and it was fine until I went back for a general check and clean and since then that particular tooth has been very sensitive to anything cold. It does not ache other than the sensitivity. The dentist has tapped it and examined it since my complaints and said he believes it is just normal sensitivity and nothing of more concern. I was wondering if anyone here has had a similar problem? did the sensitivity last long or did it turn into something more serious? or did the problem go away eventually?

thanks for any help in advance. :)

It could be that the sensitivity is normal sensitivity after a scale and polish - try using a sensitivity toothpaste and rub it onto the nek of the tooth after you have brushed.
As a general rule, if the sensitivity is brief then it can settle with time or appropriate treatment without becoming too complicated.
