Should my temporary crown hurt so much?

Hi there,

I had my temporary crown put in last Thursday, it's now Wedesday night and my jaw hurts constantly, day and night. Is this normal? I'm having to constantly take painkillers and the agony starts again when the painkiller wears off. I even have to get up once in the night to take painkillers.

Hi to the forum.

I would go back to see your dentist, I have a temp crown on and it hasn't given me any trouble or pain at all. You do need the dentist to have a look, don't suffer with it.

The nerve is inflammed and requires attention - don't wait until the fit appointment.
