Hi, I just wanted to ask a question about extractions.

It has been over 25 years since I last saw a dentist due to a bad experience with a painful filling.

Unfortunately at least 6 of my upper teeth and 3 of my lower teeth have just rotted and jagged black bits are all that remain.

I am in the process of looking for a dentist who is good with nervous patients but I wanted to ask, would these extractions be simple ones or surgical?

Many thanks

Elouise

Hard to be sure without looking but as a general rule, roots are much easier to remove than intact teeth, which is the opposite of what most people seem to think.

Been getting myself worked up at the thought of needing so many teeth out and that I'm going to end up being in the chair for a while but reading in here about how much has changed in dentistry over the past 20 years gives me more confidence to finally face my fears and get my mouth sorted out.

Thank you so much for your reply Gordon, many of them are just little bits of black that need removing so hopefully the 9 extractions won't take too long to remove.
