Have managed to stay off this site for 4 weeks (after some great advice and help from others) but I am still in pain and some new symptoms so would like some advice if possible. Very worried I am going to have to go to emergency dental hospital tomorrow and see a dentist I don't know.

I had two white fillings on my upper right molars 6 weeks ago. They have never settled since, sensitivity to hot and cold for a few seconds and still hurts to bite down sharp things (bite has been adjusted).
I have had eye pain, cheek pain, stuffy nose and headaches so I am on antibiotics for sinusitis (I have had tooth pain from sinus issues once before years ago but nothing like this). I am also using a steroid nasal spray.

The pain feels like it is in my tooth, or just above it, then it throbs in my jaw area bone that seems to link to my ear sometimes.

About 8 days ago it ached and throbbed severely for about 1 hour. Tonight it seems to be back throbbing severely again as I write this. It has felt a little better during the week, sharp pains now and again, low throb but nothing major like tonight.

So it was severe tooth/cheek pain 8 days ago which went away and seemed to die down, now it is back again, same pain, same area. I am 10 days into antibiotics and 4 days into nasal spray.
Please, does this sound like dentistry issues or sinuses? One of the teeth that were filled were hurting before I had the filling with sweet things, apparently it had a hole in it - so maybe it has been damaged too much to be saved by a filling?

Dentist looked two weeks ago and said all looks fine (but am going back next week) and I am waiting on an MRI scan date because the Doctors don't know what it is.

Please help if you think this is my tooth or if it could be my sinuses. I don't understand why the pain seems to be coming and going, sometimes VERY severe.

I'm sorry, but it could be either from your symptoms :(

Might be worth asking the dentist to remove the new fillings and place a sedative dressing in the teeth instead to see what happens.

Thanks for your reply. My dentist did talk about maybe doing that the last time but the Doctor has put me off going back to the dentist until I get my scan (will take weeks though) in case it is my sinuses. However the pain in my cheeks/face may be that, but just seems unlikely my sinuses would be affected by cold things and would make my teeth sensitive?

I have been testing my tooth - it is 100% VERY sensitive to cold (a sharp ouch that goes away within a second or two) but it seems ok now with hot, e.g. hot tea.

It is all very confusing and scary. My eyes have been in so much pain and discomfort today. I will contact my dentist again and ask his advice.

Hi all, development on the sinus/tooth pain. Going to see an ENT specialist later in the week and have had this x-ray taken of teeth and sinus area today.

Have attached it (hope it works?) if anyone can take a look at it - see if anything looks unusual with the teeth/nerves or sinuses.

Any thoughts would be appreciated as this has now been officially a problem for 1 whole year as it all began last December. Never had to see so many dentists/doctors/opticians in my life.

Thanks in advance if you can help :)

That x-ray is a bit too small to get a decent look at, it doesn't look very well done though.
