Skin grew over half of tooth that broke off. How will they extract it now?!

I noticed that my broken molar that needs an extraction is worse off. I can see some tooth at gumline of break but the skin has grown over it. How will they get this out?

Easily We use a tool called an elevator that slides between the roots and lifts them out. Most dentists would sooner remove roots than an entire tooth.

Thank you. This forum has helped soo much. I guess I’m getting more nervous since it’s tomorrow. I’m so scared of having this bottom infected broken molar removed. I keep thinking the worst and I’m scared of recovery as well. Since I said before I smoke and can’t not.

Wishing you good luck for tomorrow. May the procedure go much quicker and easier than you expected and may you recover smoothly and quickly. Extractions are one of the scariest procedures I would say, but they are often one of the quickest ones. Do keep us posted!

I did it! It took no longer than like 2 minutes. They worked fast where I had no time to think too much. My heart was beating soo fast but I did it. I’m home and super numb with frozen peas on my face. I am anxious right now idk why!?

Congrats and well done, glad it all went well! It is not unusual to feel weird after such a stressful appointment - your anxiety the days before the appointment was so high, it only makes sense that your body and emotions need some time to settle now that the procedure is done. Hope you got plenty of sleep and rest and feel better now, wishing you a speedy recovery!
