Further to recent posts. Asking if Gordon or the other dentists on here know of any special needs dentists here in NZ? Needing a face to face second opinion (re recent posts-valid concerns raised, thankyou Gordon). Needing a dentist who is very sensitive to complex less common mental health dx's, physical health in general and the implications of these for any dental/medical care. Needing a trusted, highly recommended dentist, any thoughts please? *recent posts will fill you in if needing further info*

Hi K.M., whereabouts in NZ?
Nelson, South Island. Have googled, but to no avail or clarity (on websites) if they are special needs dentists (complex cases).

There's a Health & Disability Advocacy Service based in Nelson (phone: 035444116). Perhaps they would be able to advocate for you and/or help refer to services or a second opinion of an appropriate standard.

You could also try emailing the University of Otago, where they have a course in special needs dentistry (the only one in NZ). Graeme Ting seems to be the one who specialises in mental health among other things; his contact email address is provided on the page:

Maybe he knows of someone in Nelson who would be suitable - always worth a try.
