Step two today: set my first root canal appointment

It's been one week since my extractions, my mouth is feeling pretty good, it feels weird to be missing teeth in there, but recovery is going well.

I made my second step and set my appointment for my root canal and build up for next Wednesday, a little nervous because it's my first dental procedure in 15 years (aside from the extraction and I was knocked out for that). I plan on bringing my iPod and distracting myself with that, and being vocal if I feel anything.

Anyone have any other tips for getting through a root canal?

Before your dentist starts be sure you are really numb, which they do anyway. Then lay back and try not to snore

It is so boring you may have trouble staying awake. It will be okay, you are very brave Try not to worry too much it isn't bad, I would rather have a root canal any day than a filling. I never thought I would say that, I was terrified before I had my first just over a year ago. You will be fine

5-ish more days until my root canal. . . maybe I'm naive but I'm looking forward to it, now that i have started on my dental work, I'm doing my best to ignore my fear/anxiety and just focus on getting it done. Plus this tooth is bugging me, I didn't notice as much before his problematic pals were extracted, now the pain is focused mostly on this tooth and I can't wait to get it fixed.

can't wait until wednesday, then I'm on vacation memorial week! road tripping to visit family and really looking forward to it!

Good luck. You got through the extractions and you can get through the root canal as well.
