Hi All,

Still 6 weeks after my root canal i am having problems with my root canaled tooth. It was performed by an endododist but without a microscope... It still feels weird, i went to a tmj specialist because my jaw suddenly started hurting a lot and he said after the mri that there a problem with the joint and I should wear a night guard for that... he saw my xray and said the root canal was good so the pain should be due to the joint.. I really cant understand since it feels like a tooth pain. I have attached a picture from the xray just to have your opinion on the root canal...

Could the joint create tooth pain???

Thank you!

It does look like a good root fill, so given that you've got a firm diagnosis of joint issues, then I'd give a night guard a try and see if it sorts things.

I am in your same shoes. I have had multiple root canals that I questioned as well. I was also sent to a TMJ specialist. Unfortunately, my issues are now beyond a mouth guard and I am scheduled for a jaw procedure in about a month. I am praying Thai fixes my issues as well. Please keep us updated!

I have quite a bit of pain in my lower molars from TMJ related issues. Mine also feel like tooth pain, and it scares me every time it flares up, which is when I am stressed. I tend to clench my teeth at night when stressed, and am not always even aware I am doing it. A nightguard did help me quite a bit. I still have some pain, but not as often and not nearly as severe.
