Hi, I'm seeing my dentist on Monday for my first ever root canal treatment and I'm extremely scared. Especially as my last dentist has made me completely lose trust in doctors. While awaiting this another tooth started hurting suddenly and now I'm panicking even more. I had braces removed last November and some of the glue of the permanent retainer was hitting my tooth and the tooth ended up in pain, went to my dentist so many times for this and then he ended up without my permission filing a bit of the enamel and it hurt me at the time he did that. That was in January and the tooth was in a bit of pain after and then just some sensitivity. However now out of the blue started hurting me again in the corner he filed. Now I'm panicking that this tooth would also need a root canal treatment and can't calm myself down. The current RCT i'm getting done is on a tooth that I spoke to him about every visit last two years but he just kept saying that sometimes this happens after fillings and one day it will need an RCT, after changing my dentist when the pain got stronger turned out the filling was cracked and thats what started this situation. I feel very wrong done and I wanna make sure I'm prepared for the next visit with my new dentist to make sure nothing goes wrong.
If anyone can provide some advice what this could be, its one of my front top teeth, so I'm so anxious that this can ruin the way my face looks. The pain is different than the pain I have with the tooth expecting an RCT but its also been two days and it still on, i keep poking it with my tongue so that might be contributing
