Hey.
Im looking for some advice for something I just recently noticed and wondering how I can remove it.

I haven’t been to the dentist in a couple years due to covid and because of this it’s made me feel really anxious about going again due to the lack of socialising so please bare this in mind.

I’ve been meaning to get some work done on my teeth regardless of the issues I’ve just noticed but I’ve had a chipped tooth for years I think it may have been done when I was little but it has always been there.
The other day I had noticed that there is brown tartar I believe in the chipped tooth and I have tried everything I can to try to remove it.
I went online and tried to see the best ways to remove it because I don’t want it to progress into something worse and found online a ‘Ultrasonic Tooth Cleaner’ which had loads of good reviews and was apparently the best option to remove tartar and plaque.
I received it today and it’s extremely vibrating which makes me feel anxious to put something heavily vibrating near my teeth but I gave it a go and it hasn’t removed the tartar in my chipped tooth.
I also feel very cautious to put any vibrating tool let alone near a chipped tooth to remove it but i don’t feel comfortable at all using it, there’s a range of settings and it’s said that the highest would remove even more if it’s things like a tartar build up but again it still hasn’t removed anything and I don’t want to be too rough with my teeth as it’s sharp metal like you’d find in the dentist.

I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they managed to remove it?
I’m fully aware I need to book another appointment but regardless if I booked one now it’s private so I wouldn’t get a normal appointment until a couple months time and I want a quick and fast removal so that it doesn’t progress into something else.

Thank you for taking the time reading this :)

if a picture is easier to get more of an idea let me know and I’ll upload one but I just want it removed.

Not a dentist, but could it be a stain? My teeth get stains in between six month cleanings that I can’t brush away, but they get them off at the dentist’s office when they clean them. I have a chipped lower tooth (corner chipped off) and it stains easily where it is chipped.

@MountainMama you honeslty could be right but I really appreciate the help!
I’m only assuming it’s tartar considering I’ve never noticed it before but I can’t brush it away either. I’m hoping that it’s nothing serious but it’s so frustrating to get them!

I had a brownish stain show up on my front tooth one time, and it seemingly appeared overnight. It freaked me out. I brushed and brushed and couldn’t get rid of it. At my next dental appointment, the dental hygienist took it off easily. She said that it was in a groove in the tooth, which is why it was harder to remove.
