Hi,
I am a fourth year student studying Broadcast Production (based in Ayr) and for my final year film I am planning to make a film about fears and phobias. If any one is interested in taking part or finding out more about the project please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you.

Would you be so kind as to tell us here more about your film please, that way we know what we are enquiring about.

As this is a forum for anxious, nervous and phobic people there are some very vulnerable people on here.

We offer support and comfort and encourage them to seek help with dental problems. It would help if you outlined more about what it is you are wanting so that we can all see and comment on what you are doing.

I wouldn't encourage anyone to contact you until we know more.

Thank you :butterfly:

Thank you for your reply Carole,
The film is basically a "day in the life" style film that will include 3 people struggling with phobias, where their fear originated, how it impacts their lives and how they intend to overcome it. I will also include an interview with a psychologist that specialises in treating people with serious phobias regarding the treatment options available etc. I realise this is a very sensitive and personal topic but I would be grateful to anyone willing to be involved.

id be interested in watching that type of thing but i'm not really interested in taking part

I went through a journey last year and i'm regretting so many of the choices i made. Deep cleaning, upper and lower extractions, 2 fillings, lost track of the number of adjustments. a lot of my teeth were in bad shape( i had 14 go bye bye between 2 appointments) but i cant remember them giving me even half as much trouble as the partials have.

i don't even wear my partials that much and if the dentist would know that, id NEVER hear the end of it. i started off about 4 days a week, then 2X, then every 6 days, i went to every seven days, and the last wear was 8 apart.

Should of gone in for a cleaning 2 months ago but i don't really care anymore. I should have enough money by next month IF i really wanted to go but giving the choice between going in for a cleaning that'll run me about 90 or buying a lego set that i've been wanting for about 3 months now that'll run me a little more, i'll probably be taking the lego set and worrying about the cleaning later unless something more important shows up at e3 2015.

Thank you for explaining what you are wanting to do. I don't think this is the right place for you to seek the people you are wanting. People on here will make their own judgement on whether or not to contact you, I am only writing my own thoughts on the matter. It would not be for me.

I am not a moderator of this forum and this is only my opinion on the matter but the pressure to meet your aims and targets would prove too much for most on here. It can take someone coming on here a year or more to get treatment and that is after all the no pressure and gentle encouragement they can get on here.

Do you really have the time to spend following someone that may not conquer their fear/phobia or even get as far as making an appointment in the time you have to dedicate to your project?

I think it is a good idea but maybe you would be better contacting dentists that you could meet face to face and ask them to ask patients that they feel could cope with what it is you are wanting to do.

I feel the pressure would be too much for many on here. I do wish you all the best and I hope you find what you are looking for. :butterfly:
