It does help tremendously knowing that I can vent my fears on here, and rant as much as I need to!!

We love venting and ranting! That is what we are here for. [smiley=cheers.gif]

I didnt sleep well last night as usual, and was woken this morning with a phone call from Karen, the dental nurse at the clinic,(nice lady) she was just checking that everything was ok for Wednesday, and to explain that the clinic will be very busy  with more going on.....more professionals etc and that  it's normal and Im not to let that worry me.

That seems very encouraging to me that they would give you a heads-up regarding the increased busyness and not have it shock you when you got there.

Thanks for your good wishes Freakout. This time tomorrow I'll be on my way there.....my appointment is 11am. [smiley=frightened.gif] [smiley=frightened.gif]
I know this evening/night will be horrid but with a little help from the magic pills I should be able to cope and not have panic attacks 8-)
A time machine would be brill wouldnt it?...................or even a machine that lets you see the future......wouldnt it be great to actually see that the treatment is over and all is well.?? Hmmm.....thinking along those lines......... I think if I'd been shown before and after pics, ie., what my smile will be like when ALL treatment is done.it would encourage me soooooo much to actually finish the treatments.

Good luck with your next appointment Freakout...........keep us posted [smiley=hugging.gif]

Thanks James. I thought it was good of her to explain things too. My last two assessment appointments were on "non treatment days" and at 9am, so I was the only one there. Maybe with other patients around I'll try not to panic so much, :-/ but there again- if I see someone else pannicking or crying, it will scare me off! (one of my earliest memories which i wont go into)
I guess I'll just see how things go 8-)

Ho Hum,

I'm still awake.........and my appointment is looming!! I took 2.5mg diazepam at tea time and 5mg at 10.30 tonight and still wide awake, although a little bit relaxed. Cant see the point in going to bed just to "toss and turn". I thought maybe by taking the extra 2.5mg would have added to the drowsiness but ......no such luck! ( i thought seeing as I only weigh seven and a half stone i would have been a little drowsy by now?)

Aw well.....I'll carry on browsing the boards and playing games.............

By the time you read this, you'll probably already have been for your appointment but just in case you haven't - Good Luck! [smiley=grouphug.gif]

Hopefully you managed to get some sleep last night as this can make a big difference to how you feel on the day (I usually have at least a week of not sleeping before I go - so I know how bad it can make you feel ;)).

You'll probably know this already but there's loads of things that can affect how the Diazepam takes effect. Although I've never had it for going to the dentists, I have had it before for other stuff. I sometimes find that if I'm already really stressed then it hasn't always worked as well as I'd hoped (probably because I'm producing too much adrenalin! :P).

Anyway, let us know how it goes! :)

Well fokls.......I'm back...........havent had a sleep yet so this meay be a bit jumbled. I got int the shair and started shaking/crying. Helen had already gone through the options, ie.................she would try and fill a back tooth but rexplained that she may just have to dress it for now if it was too deep!..I told her if that was the scase......i'd rather have the too th extracted than have pain or a root canal [smiley=frightened.gif] [smiley=frightened.gif] Also, I explained my fear of the lowe front tooth breaking off during the cleaning.she was honest and said that it could happen. I took the choice of leaving those two teeth till next time so i hcan have them extracted and immediates fitted.which she agreed too. All in all this time, i've had some deep cleaning, a tooth extracted and a front upper tooth filled, (had the cleaning done under local too). Feeling very woozy, even tho she didnt use as much sedation thisb time...i seemed to be more aware, and the whole of my face feels numb.
Talk to you later
