So yesterday I had ALL of my teeth pulled including impacted wisdom teeth and had immediate dentures placed. I was sooooo scared. I thought it was going to be so much worse than it really is. The only real pain I am having is from the wisdom teeth. They are super sore. And my jaw is pretty sore. hurts to open my mouth wide. The dentures are casing some pressure in the front and rubbing again my gums but this was expected.
I haven't taken them out yet to rinse my mouth. The oral surgeon said to wait 48 hrs. Has anyone else had this done and have any tips for me? I'm worried about taking them out to rinse and not being able to get them back in. I know I would only rinse and immediately reinsert them.
The aftercare instructions they gave me were pretty vague. Anyone have any tips for me?
I have only been able to drink so far. Tried some jello but can barely get it down

I had an immediate partial put in just over a week ago,on advice from my dentist if when i took it out for the first time if it wouldnt go back in (it didnt) was to stop, go away have a drink and try again ,because the more you panic the worse it will be.I got it in again and now i take it out when im in shower soak it for 15 mins in dental cleansing tablets ,do not brush it with toothpaste as it will end up discolouring it ,just use soap and water and a soft childs toothbrush,i got a Shrek one!!For my partial she suggested keeping it out at night to let gums heal

Hi. With having so many teeth extracted at once, I'd probably keep the dentures in longer just to give the gums more time to heal. I STILL have to use salt water. I didn't use it as much as the dentist wanted me to (every hour) and I also had to have filler put in from where my bones were deteriorating. Plus, some stitches got ripped open from the bottom denture and there were pressure points where it rubbed and caused more open sores.

As far as soft foods, I ate a lot of frozen yogurt, mashed potatoes, and soup. Good luck on the healing.
