Just looking for an opinion on whether this tooth is, decayed / discoloured or is that a crack? There's a good chance I'm seeing things but I just wanted reassurance more so as am a very anxious patient when it comes to dentist and mouth issues

Err, you've drawn all over the relevant bits... :) There's a natural groove in that part of a molar so it's most probably that you've noticed.

This might be a better photo. Sorry about that

Stained groove I think. You'd need to stick an explorer in to be certain though.

Wanted to give you an update Gordon, so I went to my dentist, he give the tooth a check and tapped it with an intrusment, that's when it was at its sore point during the examination, he thinks it's connected to the sinuses but that it could also be an infection in the tooth, he continued me on with amoxicillin, and I'm back in, in a months time for a follow up clean and if the tooth is still an issue he'll xray it

Should I take this as a positive that he didn't feel the need to an xray right away?
I'm finished the amoxcillin today but I still have soreness so Im gonna probably ring my doctor to have the antibiotic changed or continued

But would the tapping on the tooth be normal to feel pain if it was just an infection?

Thanks

Not sure what you're asking TBH. If there was an infection at the top of the root then tapping it would normally give some pain.

I meant like is it a good thing that there was no rush in an xray does this mean the tooth would return healthy if infected?

I suppose so. If the tooth is infected then it won't recover. Needs either extracted or root canal.
