tooth extracted while infected

hi, I had my tooth extracted on Thursday (so 2 days ago), and my dentist extracted my tooth whilst it was quite badly infected. It’s 2 days later now and it’s woken me up in the night a few times now with really bad pain. Will it be more tender and painful as it was extracted whilst infected and due to the fact that there is probably still some infection left there? It’s quite painful. Thanks.

No, it doesn't matter whether it was infected or not, however if it's that painful then it could be a dry socket, give your dentist a call as soon as you can.
