Tooth infection

I've had a swollen mouth previously, assumed it was due to infection, the emergency dentist gave me antibiotics. I've since been to my regular dentist and had x-rays and been told I don't have an infection.
It happens everytime I change medication but if I stop taking them the swelling goes. Does that mean this is the cause or could my dentist be missing something?
