Yesterday, the Guardian published this podcast on why in some parts of England, it's so difficult (or impossible) to find an NHS dentist that takes on new patients:
Basically, the conclusion is that the ongoing lack of reform of the failed 2006 contract is a deliberate move to privatise dentistry in the long run (because providing a good service for all would cost too much) and to switch to an NHS dental emergency service only.
