I had a bottom molar removed earlier in the year at hospital. Unfortunately the young doctor accidently really knocked my top incisor with his tool when a part of my molar broke off quickly. I've now found out I have an unexpected infection in the root and bone of this incisor under the filling. Could the knock have caused root damage. It hurt for a couple of weeks after the knock. I now have to have this tooth out.

Fairly unlikely to be honest, the sudden impact will have caused some inflammation of the periodontal ligament, which generally heals up by itself in a week or two.
